For people keeping score, week 1 sales of the iPad is expected to be around 450,000 units. In comparison Apple sold just over 250,000 units during the first weekend the iPhone became available in July 2007. but to make apples-to-apples comparison, one should note that the iPad was launched with 200,000 plus strong app platform while the iPhone literally had nothing more than standard Apple apps.
